Working at the Forschungskolleg Humanwissenschaften

The Fellows of the Institute for Advanced Studies in the Humanities here discover a working environment conducive not only to concentrated individual study but also to scientific dialogue and disputation. Scientific exchanges take place not only at regular colloquia and informal meetings within the Institute, but also at events to which scholars from Germany and abroad are invited.

Library

The Institute building also accommodates the library, in which the Fellows can consult relevant works of reference and read selected daily and weekly newspapers. A library service facility obtains literature required for research from other libraries in the region or through inter-library loans, and assists users with searches in specialist online databases.

Common rooms

Regular contacts between the Fellows, even if informal, are a necessary and indeed fundamental aspect of a stay at the Institute for Advanced Studies. For instance, meals can be taken communally in the restaurant. The conference rooms in the Institute building and the salons in Villa Reimers are available for internal colloquia and meetings.
