To design our website to meet the needs of users, we use the web analysis tool "Matomo". Matomo creates usage profiles based on pseudonyms. For this purpose, permanent cookies are stored on your device and read by us. In this way, we are able to recognize and count recurring visitors. We also use the Heatmap & Session Recording modules. The heatmap service from Matomo shows us the areas of our website where the mouse is moved most frequently or where the most clicks occur. The session recording service records individual user sessions. We can replay recorded sessions and analyze the use of our website. Data entered in forms is not recorded and is never visible.

Mandatory legal provisions – in particular legal retention periods – remain unaffected.
3. Newsletter data
If you would like to receive the newsletter offered on the website, we require an email address from you, as well as information that allows us to verify that you are the owner of the specified email address and that you agree to receive the newsletter. To ensure that the newsletter is sent with your consent, we use the so-called double opt-in procedure. In the course of this, the potential recipient is added to a distribution list. The user then has the option to confirm the registration in a legally secure manner by means of a confirmation email. The address is only actively added to the distribution list if confirmation is received. We use this data exclusively for sending the requested information and offers.
4. Integration of third-party services
Some pages of the website of Forschungskolleg Humanwissenschaften may contain content from third parties (such as videos from YouTube, maps from Google Maps, RSS feeds, graphics, etc.) embedded from other websites. This always requires that the providers of this content (hereinafter referred to as "third-party providers") perceive your IP address. Without the IP address, the third-party providers would not be able to send the content to your browser. The IP address is therefore necessary for the display of this content. We strive to use only content whose respective providers use the IP address only to deliver the content. However, we have no influence on further use of your data (e.g. if third-party providers store the IP address for statistical purposes).
