Paula-Irene Villa Braslavsky ist Professorin für Allgemeine Soziologie und Gender Studies an der Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München. Ihre Forschungsschwerpunkte liegen in den Bereichen Geschlechterforschung, Bio- und Körperpolitik, Kultursoziologie sowie in der Soziologie der Pflege- und Sorgearbeit.
Für ihre Arbeit wurde sie mehrfach ausgezeichnet. Neben ihren eigenen Beiträgen und Herausgeberschaften ist sie in verschiedenen Fachgesellschaften, Jurys und Beiräten tätig, unter anderem als Vorsitzende der Deutschen Gesellschaft für Soziologie (2021-2025). Seit Mai 2023 ist sie Vorsitzende des wissenschaftlichen Beirats des NS-Dokumentationszentrum München.
