Ahmet Hadi Adanalı Dozent für Philosophie, Ankara Aufenthalt am Forschungskolleg Humanwissenschaften: Mai–Juli 2023Forschungsthema am Forschungskolleg Humanwissenschaften: »The cognitive capacities in the Qur’ân«Projektbeschreibung: Reason and rationality have become the central topics of research in cognitive science, a relatively new discipline that was initiated during the second half of the twentieth century with the so-called »cognitive revolution«. The studies in this domain increased exponentially and opened new venues of research areas. The interdisciplinary research relating cognitive science to other disciplines such as philosophy, psychology, linguistics, economics, law, and medicine is on the rise, and valuable work has recently emerged out of this joint interest. Attempts to relate the research outcomes in cognitive science to the problems in religious studies remain relatively new and only a small number of studies have been conducted so far. For Muslims, the Qur’ân is a spiritually motivating, mentally stimulating, psychologically reassuring, and behaviorally demanding book. The Qur'ân has also an astonishingly rich vocabulary concerning cognitive, rational, and emotive capacities. This research project is a modest step forward to understanding the intimate relationship between the natural capacities of reason and rationality, and the spiritual tendency to believe, drawing upon the contemporary studies in cognitive science and the Qur’ân hermeneutics. Sein Aufenthalt wird vom Goethe-Fellow-Projekt »Rekonstruktion der Entstehungs- und Formierungsdynamiken des Islams«, das am Forschungskolleg Humanwissenschaften angesiedelt ist, gefördert. Wissenschaftliches Profil von Ahmet Hadi AdanalıAhmet Hadi Adanali hat an der Universität Ankara Religionswissenschaften und an der Technischen Universität des Nahen Ostens in Ankara Philosophie studiert. 1995 promovierte er an der Universität Chicago im Fach islamische Philosophie. Als Lehrbeauftragter in den Fächern Geschichte, Philosophie und Theologie hat er an verschiedenen Universitäten und Instituten gelehrt, u.a. an der Universität Ankara, der Bilkent-Universität, der Gazi-Universität und am Institute of Islamic Thought in Ankara sowie der Päpstlichen Universität Gregoriana in Rom. 2005–2016 war er Senior Berater im Büro des Ministerpräsidenten der Republik Türkei, wo er an der Gründung des UN-Projekts »Allianz der Zivilisationen« beteiligt war.Forschungsschwerpunkte: Islamische Philosophie und Theologie, analytische Philosophie, Kritisches Denken und Argumentieren, Sprache und Logik, Wissenschaft und ReligionVeröffentlichungen (Auswahl):
