Rida Inam![]() Research Associate at the Department of Islamic Theology and its Didactics, Justus-Liebig-University Gießen Resident at the Forschungskolleg Humanwissenschaften: April–July 2018; October–December 2018 Research topic at the Forschungskolleg Humanwissenschaften: »A Study of Religion and Media – Muslim Adolescence in Post-Secular Germany« Project outline: This research project is designed to be an integral part of the largescale enterprise titles ›Religious Positionality/Positioning› (RelPos), by contributing to it with the inquiry of the modalities and constellations of religious positionality in Islam. The idea is to look into ways in which the divide between Islam and the West is maintained through divisive rhetoric and to ultimately find a method to overcome it. We want to analyze the discourse in different kinds of media, largely received and created by young adults, in order to find out how they perceive and perpetuate the allegedly insurmountable divide between secular and religious values.
