Das im Sommer 2011 erschienene Buch von Axel Honneth Das Recht der Freiheit ist in der Fachwelt wie auch in den Medien auf eine große, teilweise kritische Resonanz gestoßen. Anfang 2012 war das Buch Gegenstand eines eintägigen Workshops am Forschungskolleg Humanwissenschaften, in dessen Rahmen Honneth auf die Fragen und Einwände seiner Frankfurter Kolleginnen und Kollegen reagierte. Im anschließenden Gespräch mit Morten Raffnsøe-Møller verteifte er seine Position. Raffnsøe-Møller lehrt Sozialphilosophie und Politische Philosophie an der Universität Aarhus. Im Wintersemester 2011/12 war auf Einladung von Rainer Forst zu Gast am Forschungskolleg Humanwissenschaften. Axel Honneth ist Professor für Philosophie an der Goethe-Universität in Frankfurt am Main und an der Columbia University in New York sowie Direktor des Frankfurter Instituts für Sozialwissenschaften. Zudem ist er Vorsitzender des Wissenschaftlichen Beirats des Forschungskollegs. Das Gespräch wurde in Forschung Frankfurt, Heft 1/2012 veröffentlicht.
